Clarification About the Spoofing Test

You can use our online spoofing tool to send an email, in your name, to any email address.

Step 1 To perform this test, you must first enter the email address you want to test. In other words, the email address from which you want to simulate sending a spoofed message. If your email domain is sufficiently protected, you will be informed of this and the test will end.

Step 2 Naturally, we will first verify that you are the owner of the email address provided. To do this, we will send a verification code to the email entered earlier and ask you to enter this code in the next step of the test.

Step 3 Next, you can provide another email address to which the spoofing message will be sent. It is recommended that this address be different (preferably from another domain) from the one being tested. This way, it is possible to simulate a spoofing email in a more realistic manner. Our test email contains only information about White Arrow Technology and has no links, attachments, or malicious content.

Step 4 In some cases, advanced spam filters may block our spoofing test email, causing it to go straight to the spam folder. This indicates that the recipient’s spam filter is using stricter filtering rules. However, this does not prevent other recipients with less effective filters from receiving spoofing emails on behalf of your organization in their inbox, as if they were legitimate.

Context Research shows that 88% of companies in UK, EU and Latin America do not have their email systems properly protected, making them vulnerable to email spoofing (email impersonation). We created this tool to raise awareness of vulnerabilities and allow you to experience, in practice, how email spoofing works. This test can be performed completely free of charge and with no obligation. If you have doubts about the reliability and/or authenticity of the test, contact us by phone or ask for feedback from one of our clients. Don’t wait any longer—quickly find out whether your email domain is sufficiently protected against spoofing and identity falsification.

What is spoofing and how do you prevent it? As an organization, you have probably already dealt with phishing emails. By clicking on a link, you can be directed to a website that tries to steal personal and financial data or install malware. Spoofing is a different form of phishing. In this case, cybercriminals falsify email messages on behalf of your organization, using a fake sender address to obtain financial gain. This is possible when email servers are not properly protected.

See whether your organization can be a victim of spoofing: Spoofing can cause significant damage—both financial and reputational. To check whether your organization is vulnerable, you can perform a spoofing test on the White Arrow Technology website. If your security is correct, the test will end quickly with a notification. If it is not, the test email may reach your address. Even though you know it is a test, many recipients will not have that perception. If the spam filter is also not well configured, these emails can arrive in the inbox as if they were legitimate. For this reason, it is essential to improve the security of your email server.

White Arrow Technology helps you prevent spoofing: The first step to preventing spoofing is awareness. That’s why White Arrow Technology has made this test available for free. If it is identified that your email server needs protection, contact us. Even when security appears to be correct, in practice it often is not. In addition, your employees can also be targets of spoofing, so it is essential to protect the email server as efficiently as possible. With our experience, preventing spoofing is entirely possible.
